Overview

RPB aims to be a community for all dog and cat breeds, whether purebred or crossbred. We guarantee that pet lovers are connected only to ethical breeders through careful dog registration and cat registration processes. One of our main goals is to create an educational space for all pet owners, dog breeders and cat breeders.

We understand that Veterinarians and Veterinary Nurses are on the front lines of animal care. We want to give them a reward to honor their service and devotion to the pets we love. RPB is offering an RPB Vet Scholarship to those interested in furthering their education in the fields of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Sciences, and Animal Care. 

RPB is committed to increased understanding of animal care within the community we have fostered. Part of that is helping veterinary students take their studies and expertise to the next level. 

The RPB Veterinary Scholarship Award

The individual chosen to receive the RPB Veterinary Scholarship will get a $1,500 to put toward course expenses.

The chosen individual may also be featured on the RPB website to gain more exposure. RPB will work with the winner of the award to look for further experience in the veterinary industry, as well as help search for future employment opportunities.

RPB Veterinary Scholarship Availability

The RPB Veterinary Scholarship is available to one person on an annual basis. Applications will be accepted from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

RPB Veterinary Scholarship Eligibility

The RPB Veterinary Scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited University/American Tertiary Education Institution, undergraduate and postgraduate studies in one or more of the following areas:

  • Vet Tech

  • Vet Medicine

  • Vet Science
  • Vet Nurse
  • Vet/Life Science
  • Animal Care
  • Animal Studies
  • Animal Science

  • Animal Nutrition

  • Courses leading to a career in Animal or Vet care

How to Apply

  1. Send us a 5-minute video of you, including the following:
    • A quick introduction
    • A discussion of an animal care topic
    • You must be able to explain, in your own words, the animal care topic as well as why you’re passionate about it. Submissions are expected to reflect a veterinary student’s passion for animal welfare and an awareness of the highest standards of pet care, as well as be digestible by a general audience. You do not need to use up the whole five minutes, as we are looking for quality over quantity.

  2. Send us a link to your video at [email protected]. This email should be titled “Vet Scholarship Submission”. Submissions that do not use this title will not be considered.

  3. Make sure to include the following information in the body of your email:
    • Your name
    • Your postal address
    • Your phone number

    • If you do not include this information, you may forfeit the scholarship if we are unable to contact you.

      Aside from the contact information, please also include:

      • Your current educational course or field of study

      • The location of your university or tertiary education institution

      • How far along you are in your studies

Selection Criteria

The RPB Veterinary Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who creates quality video content with positive energy and a good knowledge of the subject matter. We are looking for an applicant who demonstrates all the values demanded by the RPB Code of Ethics. RPB reserves the right to award the RPB Veterinary Scholarship to the applicant of our choosing.

Terms Of Scholarship Entry

The RPB Veterinary Scholarship is being offered by Responsible Pet Breeders. By entering this competition, you provide your acceptance of these official rules and the decisions of Responsible Pet Breeders, which are final and binding. Winning the prize is contingent on complying with these terms.

WHO MAY ENTER: Entry is only open to residents of the United States of America, 18 years of age or older. Current undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in a Veterinary/Animal Care related course at a University/American Tertiary Education Institution are encouraged to apply. Employees of Responsible Pet Breeders (and their immediate families) are ineligible to enter.

ENTRY PERIOD: The Entry Period begins at 12:01 a.m. of 1 January, 2024 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the 31 of December 2024. The winner will be notified by email or phone.

HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Scholarship Competition, each “Entrant” must: (1) In a short video (5 minutes or less) explain an animal care related topic; (2) include their full name, postal address, email address and best contact number; (3) email the entry to [email protected]. By entering the Scholarship Competition, each Entrant consents to Responsible Pet Breeders use of their names, e-mail addresses, contributed content and photographs for all legitimate business purposes in perpetuity including advertising and promotional activities without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Responsible Pet Breeders is not responsible for any technical failure during the Entry Period including any technical malfunction of any computer, on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or review to be received on account of traffic congestion on the internet, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from downloading any material related to the Scholarship Competition, all of which may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Scholarship Competition. Subject to Responsible Pet Breeders sole discretion, any Entry that incorporates elements that are lewd, offensive, vulgar, sexual in nature, involve nudity, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise considered offensive or illegal shall be disqualified from the Scholarship Competition.

HOW TO WIN: The winner of the Scholarship Competition will be selected on the basis of the best video entry by a panel of judges on January 5, 2025.

SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE: The winner will receive the following prize: $1,500 voucher. Only the prize specified above will be awarded. The $1,500 voucher is valid for 12 months and must be used before this date. Responsible Pet Breeders expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the prize awarded. Responsible Pet Breeders makes no representation or warranties concerning the prizes awarded.

PRIVACY: Please review the RPB privacy policy at https://responsiblepetbreeders.com/privacy-policy. By participating in the Scholarship Competition you hereby agree to Responsible Pet Breeders collection and usage of your personal information as permitted by the RPB privacy policy and acknowledge that you have read and accepted the RPB privacy policy.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Scholarship Competition, including accepting a prize, Entrants agree to release, hold harmless and agree not to institute any claim against RPB, and its affiliates, subsidiaries and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize awarded herein. Upon delivery of a prize to a winner, RPB will be deemed to have awarded the prize to such winner with winner assuming full responsibility for the prize. Released Parties are not responsible for any technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, website, internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one’s ability to enter the Scholarship Competition, including any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating or resulting from participating in the Scholarship Competition or downloading any materials in this Scholarship Competition. Under no circumstances will Entrants be permitted to obtain awards for any action or claim related to this Scholarship Competition, and Entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees, in relation thereto and Entrants further waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

MISCELLANEOUS CONDITIONS: If the Scholarship Competition cannot be conducted as planned, for any reason, including, without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Responsible Pet Breeders, Responsible Pet Breeders reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Scholarship Competition and select winners from among the eligible entries prior to the cancellation. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Scholarship Competition, or whom Responsible Pet Breeders believes to be causing malfunction, error, disruption or damage will be disqualified. Responsible Pet Breeders reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. Responsible Pet Breeders’ failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
